Video Scenography for Dance and Theater

The best stage is one that breathes with the people who inhabit it.

We design video scenography for ballet, opera, and drama: light environments that move with the bodies, react to music, and create drama. The video on stage isn’t a backdrop—it’s a character. We work closely with choreographers, directors, and lighting designers from the very first rehearsals, because a video scenography is born in the studio, not in the studio.

How We Work

We enter the project where it matters: from the initial concept together with the choreographer, or during production based on a pre-defined dramaturgy. We develop content with 3D animation, original footage, and generative techniques, and personally oversee rehearsals and staging, calibrating each projection to lighting, timing, and movement. We understand the constraints of the stage—rapid changes, tours, different technical systems in each theater—and we design sets designed for travel.

Over fifteen years, we have created video sets for Teatro alla Scala, Dutch National Opera & Ballet, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Czech National Ballet, Theater Dortmund, Aterballetto, and for choreographers such as Mauro Bigonzetti and Philippe Kratz.

Are you planning a new production? Let's talk soon: the best sets come to life when we enter the room, before the ideas are finalized.
