Scheherazade knew what she was risking. The Sultan’s women did too. The cutting of hair isn’t a scene, it’s a statement: the moment when something breaks and something else begins. Tradition against freedom, power against choice. Delicate lines on paper telling gestures loaded with all the weight of the world.

These boards were born during the production of the poster for Scheherazade at the Czech National Ballet. Acrylics and inks, steady hand, time that can’t be compressed. They’re unique pieces in dialogue with the digital – the same approach we use in video scenography: the tangible meeting the immaterial, craft merging with technology
